JAPAN EXHIBTION INSTALLATION

Nest

Nest suggests protection and containment with a vibrant sense of growth and possibility.

Nest is a modern piece in clear juxtaposition to its classical environment- the entry foyer to the Huis Ten Bosch Palace, a theme park replica of the Dutch royal residence; a reflection of the historical relations between the Netherlands and Japan.

Rich gold anchors the piece in the room and provides a foundation for an exuberant mix of pop-art colors.  A nest-like framework of wood rods is anchored to a base of gilded tree stumps.  Abundant vibrant Japanese florals are arranged throughout the framework
