Duende

Flora Festival

Cordoba, Spain

Located in the historic Posada del Potro courtyard, once a haunt of Miguel Cervantes and now home to the Centro Flamenco, Duende draws inspiration from the movement of a flamenco dancer wearing bata de cola – a voluminous skirt that elongates the dancer’s body and allows her to create dramatic shapes that extend her natural form.

Duende is a Spanish term representing a heightened state of emotion, expression, and authenticity associated with flamenco, acting as a "mysterious power" of raw, artistic magnetism. It is the fleeting moment when an artist connects deeply with their craft, an earthy muse that rises from the feet, rather than a learned technique.
