Polished copper rings structure a 40’ tall chain along which florals spiral upward from floor to ceiling through the museum’s rotunda as the kinetic piece rotates.  The rings not only provide the mechanics for the florals along their curvature but also are arranged with a repetitive geometry that reinforces the spiral phenomena. This structural expression was inspired by the work of architect Norman Foster, which was featured at San Diego Museum of Art at the time.
