Through the Fire, floral art installation

commissioned by cathedral festival of flowers. 

Part Two of the Four Elements of Nature series is inspired by Fire.
On the 40th anniversary of the reconstruction of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Through the Fire symbolizes the flames that destroyed the original Cathedral and the resolve to rebuild anew, reaching upward and outward in a spirit of community. Vibrant flame-shaped flowers and bright copper ribbons flare upward within a 40-ft framework of 50 bamboo triangles soaring over the central aisle.

1,500 feet Bamboo
500 stems “Parakeet” Heliconia
100 stems Heliconia Caribea
50 feet Copper ‘Ribbons’
